A brand new next-generation full fibre network is now live across Crawley, giving more than 1,500 organisations, including over 700 in the Manor Royal Business District, access to gigabit-capable connectivity services.

Crawley

Announced last September, the project was awarded by Crawley Borough Council to full fibre provider ITS through a competitive tender. Funded through the Towns Fund alongside private investment from ITS, the 32km network extends digital connectivity to more business locations across the town, with a revenue share model enabling income to be reinvested for the benefit of the wider Crawley community.

The availability of full fibre provides Crawley with the digital capacity needed at a time when reliable, high-speed connectivity is increasingly central to productivity, resilience and competitiveness. Offering high-speed services that scale with demand, the network supports cloud adoption, data-intensive operations and the increasing use of AI-led technologies across a wide range of business applications.

Councillor Michael Jones, Leader of Crawley Borough Council, said:
“The completion of this project is a significant milestone for our town. It has strengthened the infrastructure that supports local employers and helps make Crawley an attractive place for new businesses to locate.”

“As part of the Towns Fund programme, this project shows how targeted public funding, alongside private investment, can deliver long-term benefits that help to futureproof our local economy.”

Steve Sawyer, Executive Director, Manor Royal BID, said:
“Connectivity underpins how businesses at Manor Royal operate on a day-to-day basis. It affects productivity and the ability to adopt new, bandwidth-hungry technologies, all of which are essential to growth.

“With this full fibre network now live, organisations have access to the capacity and reliability they need to operate with confidence and plan for the future.”

Dave Ferry, CSO, ITS, said:
“This project responds directly to what businesses in Crawley have been asking for – access to dependable, high-quality, full fibre connectivity that can support their digital growth.

“As an open-access network, it enables them to choose from a range of services delivered by our service provider partners, offering flexibility and ensuring that their connectivity can evolve as their business demands change over time.”

Businesses can now order services ranging from full fibre broadband to dedicated leased lines through ITS’s community of service provider partners, including resellers, managed- and internet service providers. In addition to connectivity, partners offer a broader portfolio of IT services such as voice, storage, backup and security. To check availability, visit www.fasterbritain.com

ITS reveals latest list of locations set to benefit from Faster Britain full fibre rollout /faster-britain-rollout-grows/ Mon, 13 Feb 2023 12:51:41 +0000 http://localhost/itstechnologygroup/its-reveals-latest-list-of-locations-set-to-benefit-from-faster-britain-full-fibre-rollout-copy-14/ ITS Technology Group has revealed ten new locations where businesses are set to benefit from the rollout of its Faster Britain networks.

Full fibre networks across Lincoln, Chorley in Lancashire, and Stockport, Heaton Mersey and Heaton Moor in Greater Manchester have now gone live with customers already being installed. While businesses in Accrington and Blackburn in Lancashire, Birmingham, Newark on Trent in the Midlands, and Burton upon Trent in neighbouring Derbyshire will soon benefit following completion which is expected this month.

These areas are part of ITS’ multi-million-pound rollout across the UK having secured Aviva funding back in December 2019. ITS has been installing its Gigabit-capable infrastructure at pace and is on track to pass more than 180k business premises by the end of the year, having substantially increased its footprint across the North West, Midlands, and London.

ITS is also leading on the delivery of 212km of full fibre, known as LCR Connect, across the Liverpool Region Combined Authority. Working with construction partner NGE, it recently announced that the build is now underway with several large sections due to go live early next year.

“I am delighted that we have been able to provide the infrastructure that will transform the digital capabilities of businesses in these ten towns and cities. These are the latest in a growing pipeline that we have identified, working with our partners, where there is pent up demand for full fibre.

“We are proud to have already put a lot of fibre into the ground, increasing our footprint substantially over the last two years. We have also invested in educating end-users about the benefits of full fibre, raising awareness at a national, regional, and local level to help unlock opportunities for our partners.

“Our wholesale model gives our partners access to high quality, Gigabit-capable connectivity that can be ordered quickly through our portal and API. We pride ourselves on our personal approach that is about working closely with our partners, finding solutions, and helping them to sell more.”

Daren Baythorpe, CEO of ITS

ITS’ reuse approach to building its networks minimises the impact on local communities, and also means that it can make customer connections far quicker than the industry norm, committing to a 15 working day pledge for on-net installs*. ITS’ partners have access to all its Faster Britain networks as a layer 1 (bespoke networks), layer 2 (wholesale), or as a layer 3 (internet) connection. Eight new Faster Britain locations revealed /its-continues-full-fibre-faster-britain-expansion/ Thu, 26 May 2022 10:00:00 +0000 /?p=4880 ITS Technology Group has revealed an additional eight Faster Britain locations increasing its full fibre footprint across London, the Midlands, and the Northwest.

The wholesale operator is on track to pass 25% / 500,000 UK businesses (Ordinance Survey OS Open UPRN data set) by the end of this year.

Having recently secured a further £100m from Aviva Investors, ITS continues its multi-million pound Faster Britain rollout at pace, which from the start of the year has now added Burnley, Trafford Park, Wigan, Wilmslow, Handforth, Camden, Enfield, and Mayfair, and extended its Birmingham core network beyond the city centre.

ITS has the capabilities to install ultrafast connectivity to any business in the UK using its own infrastructure or that of its trusted operator partners. By providing open access wholesale networks, ITS’ 300 plus IT reseller, Internet Service Provider, and Managed Service Provider partners can order connectivity solutions for their end-users via ITS’ purpose built self-service partner portal or using the API.

I am delighted that Faster Britain is already making a difference in these towns and cities as businesses switch to services over our independent full fibre networks. We continue to focus on building where there is pent up demand for high quality connectivity.

We have invested heavily in our wholesale provision and delivery capabilities in order to provide the access and infrastructure that makes it easy for our partners to provide connectivity solutions for their customers. We use XGS-PON technology to build and install which means the same connection can scale from basic broadband to a 10Gbps Ethernet leased line

Daren Baythorpe, CEO of ITS

By reusing existing infrastructure to build networks, known as ‘dig once’, ITS minimises the impact on local communities. It can also install customer connections far quicker than the industry norm.

Faster Britain partners can access the entire network footprint as a layer 1 (dark fibre), layer 2 (wholesale), or as a layer 3 (internet) connection. For more information on becoming an ITS partner and joining ITS’ Faster Britain programme visit /become-partner/

Faster Britain full fibre coming soon to businesses across Camden /faster-britain-full-fibre-coming-soon-to-businesses-across-camden/ Tue, 29 Mar 2022 13:34:47 +0000 /?p=4706 ITS Technology Group is rolling out its full fibre Faster Britain network to ensure that more than 4,500 businesses across Camden have access to Gigabit capable connectivity.

Camden joins a growing Faster Britain footprint across London to benefit from cost effective fibre services that can be installed in days rather than weeks or months so often quoted by other operators. The switch to pure full fibre is becoming increasingly important as copper telephone lines reach end of life at the close of 2025.

ITS has designed a route that spans across Camden from the Marylebone exchange, where it passes as far north as Kentish Town, via the world famous Camden Market, and also alongside Regents Park, and Primrose Hill. Parts of the network also pass the businesses located around important transport links including Kings Cross St Pancras and Russell Square.

I am delighted that our Gigabit capable networks will address the pent up demand for flexible ultrafast services across Camden. Faster Britain will benefit a host of established and growing sectors including manufacturing, professional services, scientific, and technical organisations, driving business growth and investment.

The same physical Faster Britain connection can take a customer from a basic broadband service through to 10Gbps connection, offering a reliable, dependable service. We are proud to be transforming Camden’s connectivity and playing our part in delivering on the government’s promise to have 100% Gigabit capability as soon as possible.

Daren Baythorpe, CEO of ITS

The entire build has benefited from a ‘dig once’ approach. By reusing existing ducts to install the full fibre cables, Faster Britain reduces the environmental impact as well as the disruption that is normally associated with a construction project of this scale.

As part of the Faster Britain programme, businesses have access to a huge choice of IT, telephony, Gigabit capable broadband and connectivity solutions via ITS’ extensive partner community, and are being encouraged to register their interest at www.fasterbritain.com/camden

Faster Britain full fibre futureproofs Enfield businesses /faster-britain-full-fibre-futureproofs-enfield-businesses/ Tue, 29 Mar 2022 09:47:29 +0000 /?p=4704 More than 6,500 businesses across Enfield will soon be able to access ultrafast full fibre connectivity as ITS Technology Group’s transformational Faster Britain infrastructure nears completion.

With less than 5% of the area able to access true full fibre, there is pent up demand from local business for faster, more reliable internet services. The Faster Britain network will deliver this change. Spanning from the north at Waltham Cross, where Essex, Hertfordshire and Greater London meet, the core fibre spine follows a route through to South Tottenham, past the Tottenham Hotspur football stadium, and Enfield town centre. It reaches the industrial areas to the east, and west to Cockfosters at the end of the Piccadilly Line.

I am very proud that our Faster Britain infrastructure is providing much needed full fibre access across the capital, and that businesses in Enfield are now able to benefit from this. Many businesses, even those with superfast, still rely on the aged copper telephone lines which reach end of life at the close of 2025. A Faster Britain connection is fibre from start to finish which is why it is fast, reliable and robust.

Enfield’s Faster Britain network will have been built in less than five months thanks to our ‘dig once’ approach. As our engineering teams reuse existing ducts to lay the fibre optic cables, we lower the environmental impact and disruption to local communities during construction.

Daren Baythorpe, CEO of ITS

Faster Britain offers complete flexibility as the same physical connection can scale from a basic broadband service through to a 10Gbps connection. ITS has made it easy for businesses to access these services via its extensive Faster Britain partner relationships. This offers a huge choice of high quality products and packages including the services that ‘run over the top’ such as hosted voice and other cloud solutions.

The launch of this network is the latest in the operator’s drive to expand its footprint across the capital. To find out more, businesses are being invited to register their interest at www.fasterbritain.com/enfield

ITS to launch gigabit capable full fibre network in Preston /its-to-launch-gigabit-capable-full-fibre-network-in-preston/ Thu, 18 Feb 2021 09:59:17 +0000 /?p=1509 ITS ‘Faster Britain’ expansion will light up Preston with gigabit capable full fibre network
  • Preston businesses set to become some of the best connected in the UK
  • Full fibre gigabit capable network set to go live in Preston at the end of April
  • New network also connects the villages and towns between Preston and Blackpool and adds to the extensive network in Blackpool

Businesses in Preston will soon be able to take advantage of gigabit capable connectivity thanks to the town’s new ‘Faster Britain’ full fibre network.

The network – which will go live in April – takes gigabit capable connectivity across the area, with the new full fibre network spanning West from the Ribbleton Park area to the Docklands, through the city centre, from Moor Park through to Deepdale.

The Faster Britain digital infrastructure is powered by alternative network provider ITS Technology Group and is meeting the soaring demand for fast internet connections from the area’s business community.

It also connects Preston to its existing network in Blackpool, providing access for businesses to access the high-speed fibre network along the route including Freckleton, Warton, Lytham and Lytham St Annes.

To date, many businesses in Preston have struggled to access speeds over 70Mbps (source: Fair Internet Report). As part of the go-live, businesses will have access to speeds of up to 1Gbps.

Through its approach to re-using existing infrastructure, Faster Britain builds are deployed faster than the competition by minimising disruption through intrusive, and often prolonged, digs. It also means connectivity can be installed in a matter of weeks, rather than months.

As the Government promises 100% Gigabit capability by 2033 and with its announcement of Project Speed, ITS is playing a key role by building its Faster Britain network across the UK.

“I am excited to launch our new network in Preston, extending our significant presence in West Lancashire. As part of our Faster Britain UK network businesses in Preston will feel the benefit of full fibre. And being part of our programme ensures that Preston exceeds the government’s goals for everyone in the UK to have access to ‘gigabit capable’ connectivity by 2033.

“For the last two years we have been working with councils, local businesses, groups and associations to understand which areas will benefit from full fibre network investment, and I’m delighted we will be switching on Preston in April.

“As the legacy copper-based network becomes obsolete and we move towards its switch off, our mission is to deliver full fibre, gigabit capable connectivity to where it is needed. The pandemic has highlighted just how vital a fast internet connection is to enable people to continue to keep in touch, particularly when circumstances are keeping us apart. Faster Britain is fixing the problem around gigabit capable connectivity which isn’t available to everyone.

“We’re excited to be playing such an integral role in the digital aspirations of businesses across West Lancashire”.

Daren Baythorpe, CEO of ITS

As part of the Faster Britain programme, businesses premises across Preston are able to access a huge range of IT, telephony, gigabit capable broadband and connectivity solutions via ITS’ extensive partner community and are being encouraged to register their interest at www.fasterbritain.com/preston/ or register to be a partner by clicking here
